Smart's Alitherm 47 door achieves PAS 23/24
30 July 2008
Smart's are pleased to announced the successful testing of the Alitherm 47 residential door to PAS 24-1:1999 Enhanced Security, the industry benchmark standard for security performance.
The rigorous testing process simulates an assault on an entrance door by a burglar using various dynamic and manual methods of attack ranging from impact testing to forcing entry using different tools from screw drivers to credit cards.
“Obviously, we are pleased the Alitherm 47 Door has achieved the
PAS 24 standard”, Guy Morris Marketing Manager tells us, “we have
always had confidence in the security aspects of the door and it is
great to now have this certified. The Alitherm door is a very
successful product designed to suit the residential market; this
certification assures consumers that the product they are buying
has been thoroughly tested. PAS 24 is one of the key standards
identified by the Association of Chief Police Officers’ Secured by
Design website as “the minimum police requirement for Secured by
Design dwellings”.
The Alitherm door already holds BS 6375:1 for weather performance,
and now joins the Alitherm 55 window which holds BSI Kitemark BS
7950 Enhanced Security for aluminium windows giving Smart’s
customers an impressive suit of security assured residential
products.
For further information and test reports can be obtained from the Alitherm 47 Door page in the Product Catalogue.
