Smart-Wall Sets New Standards For Security
21 April 2010
Smart Architectural Aluminium’s Smart Wall commercial entrance door has successfully passed both the LPS 1175 Level 2 and ENV 1627 level 3 Security tests at the BRE. Smart-Wall is the first fully thermally broken swing door and screen to achieve both tests, setting new standards for security and thermal performance for commercial entrance doors.
To pass these stringent tests, Smart-Wall was capable of withstanding a sustained attack from a diverse range of tools and objects including claw hammers, screw drivers, knives, pliers, wedges, spanners, kicks and punches.
Smart-Wall has been designed with security in mind with every component designed to perform to the highest standard. The door is internally beaded and the security grade 6 lock mechanism complies with BS EN 12209. The locking bolt will withstand a 10kN side load, with an enclosed mechanism to prevent potential tampering while under attack.
This high level of security is achieved without compromising excellent energy efficiency the door which is fully thermally broken using reinforced polyamide thermal barriers which will achieve a U Value of 2.0W/m²K. The door also incorporates a solid anti finger trap for health and safety requirements and a thermally broken low ramped threshold for easy access.
Smart Wall offers a complete screening solution for fully thermally barrier swing and rebated doors. A heavy duty commercial door designed to perform under the robust usage of heavy to severe traffic, making it ideal for education and retail applications. Smart Wall will comply with October 2010 new thermal regulations and satisfies the requirements of Secure by Design for security.
