BSI Kitemarks Awarded for Alitherm Windows

SMART SYSTEMS AWARDED BSI KITEMARKS FOR ALITHERM WINDOWS

Smart Systems one of the UK's leading aluminium Systems Company has been awarded two BSI Kitemark certificates for their polyamide window known as Alitherm. Launched in 2003 the Alitherm window has become the popular choice of fabricators who require a thermally efficient window suitable for the domestic as well as the light commerical market.

The first licence awarded to Smart Systems is BSI Kitemark Licence No. KM 81580 in respect of BS 7950/4873 Enhanced Security performance of casement and tilt/turn windows for domestic applications. The second licence achieved is BSI Kitemark Licence No. KM 81543 in respect of BS 4873 for Aluminium Alloy Windows which specifies materials, construction, finishes and hardware as well as the weather tightness performance for aluminium windows.

Smart Systems believe in working closely with its customers and acknowledge that their BSI Kitemark licences have been achieved with the assistance of one of their key fabricators Macroe Windows. The technical engineers at Smart Systems worked with staff at Macroe Windows to manufacture and submit a range of Alitherm windows for testing to BS 4873 and BS 7950 at BSI Product Services.    

Eddie Robinson, MD at Smart Systems explains "The Kitemark standard is a true test of a window as it is based on a sample set consisting of many varieties, shapes and sizes. It recognises the mutlitude of configurations that may be demanded by end users and is not based on a single generic window that may never be used. With our Kitemark licences we are able to promote with confidence a window which offers a significant advantage over that available from many of our competitors and we believe that this helps to generate additional sales not just for our company but also our customers".
