SMART SYSTEMS AT THE FOREFRONT OF IMPLEMENTING NVQ TRAINING

Smart Systems is at the forefront in the implementation of NVQ level 2 training and assessment in aluminium for "The production of glass supporting fabrications". Smart Systems has collaborated with Weston College to design and offer a unique NVQ level 2 course tailored to meet the specific training requirements of their fabricators/customers. The course is certified by the Glass Qualification Association (GQA).

The assessment takes place over a three month period with fabricators spending a minimum of two days in the spacious brand new purpose built training school at the premises of Smart Systems in Yatton, North Somerset. The modern training facilities consist of a workshop equipped with the latest CNC machinery and a seminar room with a capacity of 60 for classroom based training.

Smart Systems is committed to raising standards within the aluminium window industry not only
in terms of the quality of the systems offered but also in relation to the quality of the fabrication process. This commitment manifests itself in the level of investment the company is making by offering training to their customers. In addition to the NVQ level 2 course the company is offering an enhanced certified training course covering in detail the fabrication process of their aluminium windows and doors. All candidates successfully completing the course are awarded a certificate.

Guy Morris, Smart Systems Marketing Manager said that "Customers have positively welcomed the introduction of the NVQ training course and have responded by booking places for their employees in significant numbers. We anticipate that the course will run indefinitely".

Smart Systems believe that running certified courses that are nationally recognised by an official body such as the GQA and the industry at large will give confidence to architects, specifiers, fabricators and end-users. Quality products, manufactured and installed correctly by well trained personnel not only reduce risks but also increase customer satisfaction.
