Smart hosted a series of seminars this week, designed to help customers understand the changes that have been introduced to the Building Regulations (which came into effect on 15 June).
Around 170 customers from across the UK attended the three events, which were held at Smart’s 60,000m² manufacturing plant in Yatton, Somerset and led by the company’s Technical Manager, Anthony Murray. The seminars focused in particular on the changes to Document L, which will have the most significant impact on the aluminium window and door sector, with Anthony talking through the impact they will have on systems manufacturers, fabricators and installers.
The seminar also gave customers the opportunity to see and learn more about the recently-launched Alitherm 400 door and window system and the Visofold 1000 Slim slide/folding door range – both of which feature Smart’s innovative features Smart’s innovative ‘Quick-Glaze Bead’ which offers faster fabrication and installation.
Finally customers were given a preview of a number of the other products that are soon to be launched. These included the high-performance Visotherm window system and two new ranges that will form part of Smart’s new Outdoor Living collection: the SolUmbra pergola and SolDeck decking systems. These new systems will open up new opportunities in the outdoor living, landscaping and other sectors, and will allow customers to access new markets. More details of these and other complementary ranges will follow soon.
