Yatton-based Smart Architectural Aluminium has made a donation of £3,500 to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). The company made its first contribution to the charity 15 years ago, and has made regular donations at Christmas ever since, with the directors and staff having decided to support a local charity at Christmas, rather than spend money on corporate gifts and cards.
Amanda Gallagher Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said: “We are so grateful to Smart Systems for their continued support of Children’s Hospice South West. Over the years, they have donated over £29,000 to the charity and their donations could pay for over 1,400 hours of care.
“Their support means we can continue to be here for families across the South West, who are going through the most unimaginable of times, whenever and however they need us. We’re really looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with Smart Systems into 2023 and beyond.”
After making the presentation, Smart’s CFO, Mark West, said: “I was extremely proud to present this donation to Amanda on behalf of the whole Smart team. Having been our nominated charity for 15 years, we’re pleased to support the hospice at Charlton Farm again at the end of another difficult year for many charities. We are extremely proud to support such a fantastic organisation and are incredibly grateful for at the work they do in communities like ours.”
CHSW provides the only hospice care in the South West for children with life-limiting conditions. This means that these children are not expected to survive into adulthood. The charity’s three hospices, Little Bridge House in Devon, Little Harbour in Cornwall and Charlton Farm in North Somerset provide respite care and support for those children and their families who have to cope with the most difficult of situations.
