VS400: A MODERN SOLUTION FOR VERTICAL SLIDING WINDOWS
VS400 is a thermally broken, vertical sliding window designed to perfectly replicate the timeless character of traditional sash windows. Its elegant design makes it perfectly suited to heritage and conservation settings, especially those characterised by Georgian and Victorian architecture.
Engineered for smooth operation and excellent natural ventilation, VS400 is equally at home in individual homes and high occupancy buildings. The window offers a flush opening with no projection in to or out of the building, with this style of window frequently selected for schools, hospitals and other public buildings.
Developed in collaboration with hardware specialists at ERA, the VS400 window incorporates proven, standard hardware solutions. In addition to its traditional vertical sliding sash, the system also includes a ‘tilt in’ feature that allows easy cleaning of the external glass from inside the building.
Incorporating Smart’s Quick Glaze Bead for faster fabrication and installation, the system features low line glazing gasket that will accept 24, 28, 32 and 36mm sealed glazing units. VS400 can achieve overall U Values of 1.0 W/m²K (0.5 centre) and 1.4 W/m²K (1.0 centre). Fabrication is optimised through square cut outer frames, with sash joints that are mitred and crimped for precision and strength.
Note: Dual colour options are not available for VS400.
